Under the campaign of Drug Free India, a one-day drug awareness program was organized at Police Ground Bharari
The District Welfare Department, Shimla, successfully organized a one-day drug awareness program at the Police Ground, Bharari, Shimla, as part of the Drug-Free India Campaign. The program’s objective was to raise awareness among youth about the ill effects of drug abuse and to encourage them to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The event was enthusiastically attended by over 200 participants from the CDAC Pace Centre, Lakkad Bazaar, Shimla, and its Kandaghat and Theog centres. Various sports, cultural and literary competitions were held during the event, including cricket, tug of war, 100-meter race, 200-meter race, painting competition, elocution competition, street play, musical chair, and musical ball. Participants displayed excellent enthusiasm, team spirit, and sportsmanship in all competitions.
District Welfare Officer, Shimla, Kapil Dev, attended the program as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the ill effects of drug abuse and urged youth to stay away from drugs and play an active role in building a healthy, aware, and drug-free society. He reiterated that such awareness programs will continue to be organized in the future under the Drug-Free India Campaign, to make Himachal Pradesh drug-free and inspire youth to live healthy, responsible, and positive lives.
The chief guest honoured the winners of various competitions by presenting them prizes and certificates for their excellent performance.
On this occasion, the Tehsil Welfare Officer, Shimla Urban, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the management and entire staff of the CDAC Pace Center, Lakkar Bazaar, for their cooperation and coordination. He also thanked all the participants, officials, volunteers, and support staff for their enthusiastic contributions in making the program a success.
