Una & Neri  sizzles at 43 degree 

Una and Neri in Hamirpur witnessed the scorching heatwave in Friday as it sizzled around 43 degrees moreover mercury stays near 42 in four station in Himachal Pradesh.

According to Indian Meteorological department Friday witnessed the scorching heatwave as forest fire broke out in many forests in Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. A fire broke out in a cowshed in Jogindernagar on Friday morning injured a person while rescuing the cattle from the inferno cowshed.

IMD said that maximum temperature of Neri and Una around 43, Dhaulakuna in Sirmour and Bilaspur town 41.7 each.

Shimla, Manali and Dalhousie witnessed sudden rise of footfall of tourists as people are moving in large numbers to escape sweltering heatwave. Shimla was also warmest of this season record 28.7 degrees and 3.7 degrees above normal.

Maximum temperature of Tourists resort Mashobra 28 degrees, Kufri 23.6 and Narkanda 23 degrees. In the mid hills, Kangra, Sundernagar and Mandi were recorded 38.6 degrees each, Hamirpur 36 and Chamba 35.6 degrees. Airport Jubberhati 32 degrees and Chamba 36.8 degrees .

Minimum temperature of Shimla was 15 degrees , Manali 7.2, Kalpa 9.6, Dharamshala  21.5, Nahan 21,Keylong 6.2, Solan 17.5, Kangra  20.4 and Mandi 18 degree.The lowest minimum temperature was 5.8°C in Kukumsers.

The weather over the state during the past 24 hours was dry.There were no large changes in minimum or maximum temperatures. 

IMD said that inclement weather may bring some relief from heatwave as State likely to have  rain or snow likely at some places from May 18 to 21 .
