The Gurukul Dharech will organize a Tabla Summer Camp from 11 to 15 June
A grand Tabla Summer Camp is being organized from 11th to 15th June next month at The Gurukul in Dharech, a picturesque valley of Shimla district. Internationally renowned Tabla players from India and abroad will participate in it. Vikram Gandharva, who has been awarded the gold medal in Tabla playing, will play the role of resource person in this camp. In these five days, the picturesque valley of Dharech will be filled with the melodies of music.
Vikram Gandharva told during a special conversation that this is going to be the fifth music conference of its kind in the state. Earlier, four summer and winter tabla camps have been organized in this The Gurukul in which tabla players from the country and abroad participated. Let us tell you that it was established in the year 2021 by internationally renowned tabla player Vikram Gandharva. This Gurukul is not just a music teaching institution but it is a revived form of the ancient Gurukul tradition of Indian culture where the dignity of the Guru-Shishya tradition is still performed with full devotion and dedication.
Let us tell you that Vikram Gandharva is originally a resident of Dharech of Kasupanti constituency who has done M.Phil in music and is going to do PhD. His father Hetram Gandharva is a retired sub-inspector from the police department. Vikram has got the knowledge of rhythm, melody and beat from his infancy as all the members of his family are experts in traditional music. They have maintained this tradition even in the changing environment.
