The Governor will inaugurate the Flying Festival in Junga on October 16
The princely city of Junga Valley adjoining the capital will be filled with human birds from October 16. For the second time in this deserted city, the Flying Festival and Hospitality Expo 2024 is being organized from 16 to 19 October under the joint aegis of the Tourism Department and The Glide Inn. The objective of this festival is to promote tourism, trade and tradition.
Arun Rawat, Managing Director of The Glide Inn, said that all preparations have been made for the flying festival. Registration for participating in the flying festival is ongoing. More than 60 pilots are expected to participate in this festival. So far, more than 20 pilots from different states have registered themselves. The pilots have also started practicing paragliding in Junga.
He informed that on 16th October at 10:45 am, the flying festival will be inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. Similarly, on 18th October, The Great Khali alias Dalip Singh Rana will participate in this flying festival as the chief guest at 11 am and at 2 pm in the afternoon, while Rural Development Minister Aniruddh Singh will participate in this festival as the chief guest. On the last day of this festival, on 19th October, in the prize distribution ceremony, media advisor of Himachal Pradesh government Naresh Chauhan and Bhoranj MLA Suresh Kumar will participate as the chief guests.
Tehsildar Junga Narayan Singh Verma said that for the first time during the festival, Hospitality Expo-2024 is also being organized in which about 60 exhibitors will set up their stalls. Apart from this, seminars and group discussions will also be organized on various topics related to tourism and hospitality. Battle of the Bands will also be organized during the festival, in which talented bands from across the region will gather to participate in an exciting competition. Cultural programs will also be organized every day during the festival for the entertainment of the people, in which local and district culture will be showcased.
Local residents Pankaj Sen, Deepak Kumar and many others said that Junga was a princely state capital but till date no government has made any effort to develop this historical site for tourism. They expressed hope that Junga will also create its own identity on the tourism map.
