Pilots flew over 300 sorties during the Flying Festival
The Flying Festival and Hospitality Expo 2025, being held in the picturesque Junga valley, continued its third day of flights. From Tikkar, the paragliding take off site, pilots from various countries participating in the Flying Festival, completed over 100 flights in the afternoon, landing at Seri Maidan in Junga, where paragliders’ proficiency is evaluated by experts. Over 300 flights have been completed in the past three days.
The ongoing paragliding competition in the Junga valleys is a spectacle of excitement and wonder for the people of the surrounding villages. The flying festival site is decorated like a bride, where people are enjoying the colorful paragliding umbrellas flying in the sky and savoring the mountain delicacy Siddu prepared at the various stalls set up at the festival site. They are also purchasing items displayed by investors from various states.
On the third day of the Flying Festival, Raja Khush Vikram Sen of the former Keonthal State of Junga attended as the chief guest. He praised the arrangements made for the paragliders from India and abroad and investors from other states, and congratulated MD Arun Rawat. He stated that the Flying Festival will give Junga a new international identity, boosting tourism in the region and providing self-employment opportunities for locals.
Glide Inn Managing Director Arun Rawat stated that over 300 flights have been completed in the past three days. The festival will conclude on October 28th, with awards for the first and second-place pilots. He stated that the first-place winner in paragliding will receive a cash prize of 2.35 lakh rupees, the second prize winner 1.75 lakh rupees, and the third prize winner 1.25 lakh rupees.
