Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu lashed out at rebels and BJP in Bharmour

Addressing the election rally at Bharmour in Chamba district, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that on June 1, the voters of the state will vote in favor of the Congress party candidates considering the public welfare works done by the state government in the last 15 months. He claimed that the Congress party will win all four Lok Sabha seats and all 6 seats in the assembly by-elections by a huge margin. He said that in the Rajya Sabha elections, 6 Congress MLAs sold out and cross-voted against the party’s candidate. He said that the tainted MLAs had dinner and breakfast with us and voted for the BJP candidate. He said that this was not the voice of the inner soul, but the voice of the great soul.

The Chief Minister said that to get one installment of the deal, the six tainted MLAs stayed in expensive hotels outside Himachal Pradesh for a month. He said that BJP conspired to grab power in Himachal Pradesh through money power, but their intentions could not succeed. Even before this, BJP had captured power in Maharashtra and Karnataka on the basis of money. He said that the Leader of Opposition had challenged God in the Assembly, but only God has saved the state government. He said that Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania is an expert in law and he conducted the proceedings of the Assembly within the ambit of law.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that when the present state government assumed power, the treasury was empty, but on the strength of strong will, the state government closed the doors of corruption and earned additional revenue of Rs 2200 crore in a year. He said that welfare schemes are being made for every section of the society with the additional income generated by curbing corruption. He said that BJP used to repeatedly ask when the Congress government would fulfill the guarantee of giving Rs 1500 to women. He said that the present state government started the Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana in the entire state on March 3, 2024 and kept the promise of providing Rs 1500 per month to women, but the BJP went to the Election Commission twice to stop it. Along with this, the state government gave four percent dearness allowance to the employees. Police diet money was increased from Rs 210 to Rs 1000 and Himachal Pradesh became the first state in the country to give support price on milk.

The Chief Minister said that during the discussion on the budget, the tainted MLAs sang praises of the government but at the time of voting, they fled to Panchkula in a BJP helicopter. He said that the present state government by making a law gave the status of Children of the State to 4000 orphan children of the state and took the responsibility of their care and education till the age of 27 years. Along with this, the state government is also bearing the expenses of education of children of widows and single women. Keeping in mind the problems of the common people, the state government made changes in the revenue laws and organized Revenue Lok Adalats across the state. He said that more than one lakh Itkaal and more than seven and a half thousand Takseem cases have been settled in these Revenue Lok Adalats.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that during the biggest disaster in history, the Central Government gave only assurances of help to Himachal Pradesh but nothing was received in the name of special economic package. But despite this, the state government provided an economic package of Rs 4500 crore to the affected people from its own resources. He said that it was the commitment of the state government that within 48 hours the damage caused to electricity and water schemes in Kullu district was repaired and essential services were restored. He said that during the previous BJP government, if a pillar collapsed, it took ten days to be repaired, but the state government repaired the damaged projects in record time. He said that after the roads were restored, every apple fruit was transported to the markets so that the gardeners do not have to suffer losses. He said that the relief and rescue operations of the state government were appreciated throughout the country.

On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Congress candidate from Mandi parliamentary constituency Vikramaditya Singh, former ministers Asha Kumari and Thakur Singh Bharmouri, MLA Neeraj Nayyar and senior party officials were present.
