Sukhpal Singh Kheda, President of the All India Kisan Congress, has accused the Modi government of weakening MNREGA

Sukhpal Singh Kheda, President of the All India Kisan Congress, has accused the Modi government of weakening public welfare schemes initiated by the Congress party and filing false CBI, Income Tax, and ED cases against prominent Congress leaders. He said that by removing Mahatma Gandhi’s name from MNREGA, its fundamental structure has been weakened. Congress will fight against this from Parliament to the streets.
Addressing a press conference at the state Congress headquarters, Rajiv Bhawan, today, Sukhpal Singh Kheda said that the BJP is mocking the country’s democracy by engaging in hate politics. He said that the BJP does not listen to farmers, laborers, and the common man. Crores of rupees worth of loans belonging to some capitalists are waived, while thousands of rupees worth of loans belonging to farmers and common people are not. The central government is playing into the hands of Adani and Amwani.
Kheda said that by changing the name of MNREGA, this new law has been weakened to such an extent that the states will not be able to meet the 60-40 ratio. He said that for the past several years, the central government has left no stone unturned in weakening it by using its scissors. Congress will continue its protest against it until it returns to its original form.
Kheda said that the BJP government at the center has been targeting certain opposition leaders and trying to defame them. The CBI, ED, and Income Tax Department have been trying to humiliate their leaders by fabricating false cases.
Kheda’s refusal to hear the cases framed against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case by the court clearly shows that the allegations against his leaders are false. He said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were questioned for hours by the investigating agencies in this case, despite which none of their allegations stood the test of the court. He said that in a democracy, the BJP has been making every effort to suppress the voice of the opposition. He made it clear that the Congress will not be afraid of any pressure from the BJP. To protect democracy, all the countrymen will have to come forward unitedly.
