In view of the proposed rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Shimla on May 31, the Student Parent Forum, Himachal Pradesh has demanded to declare a public holiday for the students in government and private schools of Shimla city on the said day.  Manch’s convener Vijendra Mehra and member Vivek Kashyap have said that due to the preparations for the Prime Minister’s rally to be held at Ridge Maidan in Shimla on May 31, the public is in great trouble for the last few days.  The most troubled are the school students and their parents.  For the past few days, there has been a jam in the city for hours.  This is causing great inconvenience to the public.  On May 31, the day of the rally, this inconvenience will increase further.  Therefore, Shimla District Deputy Commissioner should declare May 31 as a public holiday in view of the possibility of jam and other problems in the city.  Five big private schools in Shimla city have already declared a holiday on this day.  On the same lines, Deputy Commissioner Shimla should issue orders for public holiday in all government and private schools of Shimla city so that students and parents do not face any problem on May 31.  Last time also, when the Prime Minister had come to Shimla, the students and parents had to face a lot of trouble.  Therefore, taking lessons from the past experience, District Administration Shimla should declare May 31 as a public holiday
