Street vendor policy committee not formed even after a week of all-party meeting : Randhir Sharma

Himachal BJP media cell in-charge and MLA Randhir Sharma said that, some people are living in illegal buildings and mosques built on government land to earn their livelihood in the state. Such people are carrying out anti-social activities, due to which tension is being created in the society. Due to this, the society had to agitate. Randhir Sharma attacked Chief Minister Sukhu and said that, after the situation arising from the mosque dispute, people agitated across the state. To handle this situation, the CM called an all-party meeting on September 13. After the meeting, the CM gave a statement and said that it was agreed that people coming from outside states will be identified. The Chief Minister had to form a committee of MLAs of both the parties under the chairmanship of the Assembly Speaker, which was not done.

A committee will be formed to resolve the dispute. We will talk to the Vidhan Sabha speaker to form a second committee (for street vendor policy). But a week has passed. The committee has not been formed yet. This shows how serious the Chief Minister is about such a serious issue.

He said that like the leftists, the Congress party is also using such migrant people as vote bank. He said that even after the all-party meeting, the government has not taken a single step to solve this serious issue. He said, even after a week, cases are being registered against the people who are leading the mass movement. Notices are also being sent to journalists.

Randhir Sharma said that instead of advising BJP national president JP Nadda, the Chief Minister should advise Rahul Gandhi not to make anti-national statements. He said that it is not right for a party which has no discipline to say this.

Randhir Sharma also hit back at the Chief Minister’s statement that the Central Government has Rs 23 thousand crore pending and is discriminating against the state. He said, the Chief Minister is saying that the Center is discriminating economically. This statement is baseless. Randhir said, the Congress government of the state had also received the budget at the estimated rate of the state. The state’s share in central taxes was estimated to be Rs 8478 crore in 2023-24, while the Center has given Rs 9167 crore 23 lakh. Similarly, the Himachal government was estimated to get Rs 10124 crore in 2024-25, while the Center has given Rs 10351 crore 82 lakh to the state. The Center has given Rs 13249 crore to Himachal in 2023-24 and Rs 13287 crore in 2024-25.

Randhir Sharma said, Himachal’s economic health is deteriorating due to wasteful expenditure and mismanagement of the state. The state government is trying to cover up its shortcomings by blaming the Centre for this.

Randhir Sharma welcomed the decision of the Union Cabinet for one nation one election. He said that this will stop the wasteful expenditure of crores of rupees. It is the need of the hour to hold Lok Sabha and Assembly elections once in a year in this country. Code of Conduct is imposed due to frequent elections. Due to this, development work also comes to a halt.
