Stopping MLA Development Fund despite provision in the budget is condemnable :Rakesh Jamwal
BJP MLA Rakesh Jamwal said that despite the provision in the budget for the financial year, stopping MLA funds is to harass the public. Forget about helping the people of the state affected by the disaster, now even the MLAs are being deprived of helping the people. The limit has been reached when the CM is openly saying that he has released the installment of MLA Development Fund whereas the truth is that the installment of Rs 52 lakh of MLA Development Fund has still not been released. Apart from this, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh stopped the installment of about Rs 50 lakh of MLA Development Fund as soon as the government was formed. He said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu is giving misleading statements to the media about the Leader of the Opposition. I ask him on an open platform to leave BJP and bring forward an MLA from Congress who will get the installment of MLA fund. Have you gone? MLA Rakesh Jamwal said that today the Honorable Chief Minister does not even understand the importance of the chair he is sitting on and is giving false statements to prove the representatives elected by the people of Himachal as liars.
The decision of the state government to stop the MLA funds has been taken only to harass the people of the state. The government itself is not doing anything, so it wants the MLAs to be stopped from doing anything. He said that every MLA used to release funds from the MLA fund to carry out urgent development works in his assembly constituency, due to which many works of public interest were completed on time and people got a lot of relief. Many development works like roads, retention walls, bridges, drainage etc. can be done immediately in the larger public interest without long paper process. But the state government is stopping the public representatives from doing development work by withholding MLA funds.
Rakesh Jamwal said that the state is passing through a disaster. Even after so many days, the government has failed to provide relief to the people. In such a situation, work related to the development of people in disaster affected areas could be easily done through MLA Development Fund. This would provide immediate relief to people in times of disaster. People had given Congress a chance to do better work. Develop. But this government is working contrary to the expectations of the people.
