State Vigilance & Anti-corruption Bureau arrests former Director of Health Service
The scams and bungling occurred during COVID pandemic in purchase of equipment and materials cease to end as former Director Health Services was again arrested by State Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau in a Commission cum bribe case. Spokesperson of SV&ACB informed today that Dr. Ajay Kumar Gupta, the then Director Health Services( Now retired) was arrested today. According to spokesperson an FIR( No 4/22 ) was registered at Police station of SV& ACB Shimla which is being investigated by Special Investigation Unit. Dr Gupta has surrendered before the court after rejection of his bail by Himachal Pradesh High Court . He has been sent to police remand till 4th Feb. The case involves taking a commission cum bribe money of Rs 4.25 lakh for the purchase of ABG machines during his tenure as DHS. It noteworthy to mention here that Gupta was also arrested in a corruption case on May 2020 , by the state Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, during COVID pandemics. SV&ACB after a 43 – second audio clip , referring to money transaction in lieu of supplies in the health department and mention of Rs 5 lakh transaction, went viral on Social media. In 2020 this audio clip also forced the BJP erstwhile President Dr Rajiv Bindal tender resignation from party state top post as the employees talking to DHS was belonged to relative’ company of BJP former MLA.
