State ready to probe DGP-Businessman row case with ASP rank officer: Advocate General

Himachal Pradesh Government submitted before the Himachal Pradesh High Court today that it was ready to probe the Businessman-DGP row case with an Additional SP rank police officer and the government already conducting the probe by a DySP rank police officer.

This was submitted by Advocate General Anup Rattan before the division bench of Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua court during the hearing on this case on Wednesday.

After the hearing, AG briefed media persons about the facts of the court’s case in his chamber in the high court complex.

Mr Rattan stated that he had assured the court that the government is ready to conduct a free and fair probe by the ASP rank officers on the observation made by the court today.

He said that the government is already conducting a probe by senior police officers however it would appoint ASP-level officers soon. 

He said that regarding HC,’s apprehension of security cover granted to the complaint, Nishant Kumar Sharma’s government informed the court that two constables were deployed with the complaint and security cover would be beefed up if it was found necessary.

He said that the state submitted a copy of the status report after filling FIR today and the court would review the details of the investigation at the next hearing on December 4 moreover more copies of copies of status report also be submitted to the court.

He said that SP Kangra pointed out the issue of Media reporting regarding the case however Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao said that the media could not be restrained from reporting the case however CJ said that media should report responsibly and reporting of the court case media should make on the court order and facts in the interest of justice and not indulge in the media trial.

Earlier today Advocate General said that during the hearing today State informed the court through the status report that an FIR has been registered by the Kangra police and now an investigation of the case was going in the matter by DYSP rank officers. 

However, the court and complaints were not happy with the police investigation in the case and the court insisted that at least ASP rank officers should conduct an investigation in this important matter.

Mr Rattan stated that amicus curries also wanted to seek a response about the FIR lodged against Nishant Kumar Sharma by the DGP in Shimla town. However state government said that FIR was registered in the matter however before conducting further investigation without filling the status report in this matter it could reveal anything so far in the matter.
