State level inter college competitions organized on Hindi Day, 150 students participate
On the occasion of Hindi Day, the Department of Language and Culture organized state-level inter-college competitions in speech, essay writing, poetry reading, and quizzes at Gaiety Theatre. Assistant Director Suresh Rana welcomed the college students, professors, and judges from across the state who were present in the auditorium.
The panel of judges included Dr. Baldev Thakur, Shri Gupteshwarnath Upadhyay, Dr. Ashok Gautam, Dr. Virendra, Dr. Babita, Dr. Satyanarayan Snehi, and Mr. Sudarshan Vashishtha.
The speech competition topics were “Hindi’s Condition and Direction as a Folk and High Language” and “Role of Hindi in Achieving the Goal of a Developed India.” The essay writing topics were “Status and Speed of Hindi Language in the Age of Globalization” and “National Integration and Hindi Language.” Approximately 150 students from various colleges across the state participated in these four competitions.
Dr. Pankaj Lalit, the Director of the department, announced that the closing ceremony of the Raj Language Fortnight and the prize distribution would be held on September 14, 2024, at Gaiety Auditorium. The Minister of Public Works and Urban Development, Himachal Pradesh, Vikramaditya Singh, will be the chief guest.
Joint Director Manjeet Sharma, Deputy Director Kusum Sanghaik, Assistant Director Suresh Rana, Superintendent Shrestha Thakur, District Language Officer Anil Harta, Santosh Kumar, Deepa Sharma, and other department officers and staff were also present at the event.
