Former BJP state president and former minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that Shimla MLA Harish Janartha is promoting the work done by BJP and he is playing a leading role in the campaign.
He said that in the last 20 years, three big projects came up for Shimla city at the time of Dr. Manmohan Singh, Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Reformation Mission, second Amrut Mission and the third Smart City.
Unfortunately, at the time of the Jawaharlal Nehru Reformation Mission, there was a Congress government in the State and the Municipal Corporation, during which not a single leaf moved about this project, only a thick book was published, which did not interest anyone, at this time the water scheme of 156 crores also did not work. Went back because The city of Shimla could not get the fruits it wanted.
In 2014, Venkaiah Naidu was the Union Urban Development Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Center when Shimla received the Amrut Mission under which several drains and overhead bridges were constructed.
When Shimla was to get the status of Smart City, then the Chief Minister was Virbhadra Singh and the Urban Development Minister of the state, Sudhir Sharma, then Shimla got 87 marks, but due to fraud, Dharamshala was given the status of Smart City, BJP protested and reached the center. Shimla also got the status of smart city after the battle was fought.
After that, the work which could not be done in Shimla city since the time of the British, was done during the tenure of BJP. Roads were widened, footpaths were made, new lift was constructed, design was made by calling engineers from Roorkee, ridge ground was reinforced and another tunnel was constructed with Dhali tunnel at a cost of 54 crores. When both the ends of this tunnel met, the Chief Minister was Jairam Thakur.
The work of Jakhu escalator is going on, the work of Sanjauli footpath is going on.
During the BJP government, the tender for the flyover between the Victory Tunnel and the Vidhansabha and in Kalini has been done.
BJP fought and Himachal Pradesh got concession in the ratio of 90:10 under Smart City under which work progressed.
He said that the way Congress MLAs are trying to take credit for the works done by BJP, it is wrong. We request the MLA of Congress to speed up the works going on in Shimla and there should be no hindrance in it. It is difficult to start work but if it stops then it cannot be started.
The discussion is that Congress leaders are doing the work of interfering in Mehak, it is not right to do so.
If we talk about the shortage of water, then the record of not getting water to the people of Shimla has been made in the Congress government, BJP has made many schemes for water.
