Shimla came alive with a grand Ram Navami procession, echoing with chants of Jai Shri Ram

The executive committee of Sood Sabha Shimla organized a grand procession and morning walk as part of the Shri Ram Navami celebrations 2026, a truly divine and devotional experience. As chants of “Jai Shri Ram” echoed through the valleys of Shimla in the morning, and devotees swayed in devotion, the entire atmosphere was filled with spiritual energy. The peace of mind and joy found in the refuge of Lord Shri Ram overwhelmed everyone.

The procession began at Ram Mandir Ganj Bazaar and traveled through the city with great pomp and show, passing through Gurudwara Sahib, Ganj Bazaar, Lower Bazaar, and Mall Road. The program was presided over by Sood Sabha President Rajiv Sood, while BJP State President Dr. Rajiv Bindal was also present.

On this occasion, Rajiv Sood said that it is a matter of great joy and coincidence that the festival of Ram Navami falls on the same historical date associated with the construction and consecration of the Ram Temple, making it even more auspicious and special. He explained that the Ram Utsav was initiated on the first day of Navratri, with prayers offered at the Mata Kali Temple and an invitation extended to Lord Shri Ram’s temple.

He informed that the original text and Ram Katha are being continuously organized at the Ram Temple these days, with Acharya Premji reciting various episodes daily from 3 to 6 p.m. Additionally, a yagya and feast will be held at the Ram Temple on March 26th, to which all devotees are invited.

The tradition of Nagar Kirtan and Shobha Yatra conveys the message of unity, organization, and the ideals of Lord Rama—truth, dignity, and discipline—in society. The event, held with the permission of the administration, was attended by a large number of students from various schools, social organizations, and bhajan troupes.

During the journey, devotees bowed their heads at various religious sites, including Gurudwara Sahib, and spread the message of religious harmony and social unity. Finally, Rajiv Sood urged all devotees to participate in these events in large numbers and adopt the ideals of Lord Shri Ram in their lives.
