Shimla Assures Steady LPG Supply, Urges Residents to Stay Calm

The district administration in Shimla has reassured residents that the supply of LPG and petroleum products remains stable, despite minor disruptions in national supply chains.

Narender Dhiman, District Controller of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, emphasized that there is no shortage of domestic LPG cylinders. Stocks are adequate, and deliveries are continuing as usual. While external factors have caused slight delays, he stressed that there is no need for panic buying.

Commercial LPG distribution has also resumed at 50 percent capacity, ensuring hotels, restaurants, and other businesses can access supplies. At the same time, authorities are cracking down on misuse of domestic cylinders for commercial purposes, with inspections underway to prevent black marketing and hoarding.

Residents have been urged not to stockpile cylinders unnecessarily, as this could trigger artificial shortages. Consumers are advised to follow booking norms and avoid re-booking before the standard 25-day waiting period.

To streamline distribution, the administration has introduced a route chart for LPG supply, with cylinders delivered through home services and designated pickup points. Citizens are asked to collect their cylinders only at scheduled times to avoid crowding.

The administration’s message is clear: supplies are under control, and cooperation from the public will ensure uninterrupted access to essential commodities.
