‘Setu’ released by the Director of the Culture Dept, Reema Kashyap
Today in Shimla, the new issue of ‘Setu’ was released by the esteemed Director of the Culture Department, Reema Kashyap, IAS. On this occasion, the Joint Director of the department, Bhanu Gupta, HAS, and Deputy Director Kusum Sanghaik were also present. This is the 27th issue of ‘Setu’ and is a special issue focused on the theme of ‘Criticism’. The editor of ‘Setu’, Dr. Devendra Gupta, mentioned that in today’s literary analysis, criticism has evolved beyond mere rebuttals and debates into a developed subject. This special issue attempts to understand the theme and perspective of criticism through various genres. Director Reema Kashyap stated that criticism plays a major role in evaluating literature and that a continuous process of debate and discussion is always active in criticism. She expressed hope that the articles by learned writers in this issue on Hindi criticism in literature would certainly point towards new conclusions in criticism, and literature would be enriched by new establishments.
In the special issue on criticism of ‘Setu’, renowned critics like Vinod Shahi, Dr. Gopal Pradhan, Devendra Chaube, Dr. Bharat Prasad, Kanwal Bharati, Rajni Disodia, Neelkamal, Niranjan Dev, Prem Janmejay, Sushil Kumar Singh, Anand Pandey, Omprakash Singh, Krishna Dutt Sharma, Ashutosh Kumar, and others have presented evaluative perspectives from a critical viewpoint on genres like stories, novels, plays, theater, etc. There are also thought-provoking articles on the critical styles of famous critics like Ramchandra Shukla, Dr. Ram Vilas Sharma, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Namvar Singh, etc. This 204-page magazine is presented to the readers with an attractive cover image!
