Seeing defeat in front, Jayaram backed out from contesting elections: Sukhu
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Friday took on the BJP while seeking votes for Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh in Banjar. He said that Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, seeing defeat in front, withdrew from contesting the Lok Sabha elections. He knew that as Chief Minister for five years, he had not worked in the Mandi parliamentary constituency and was limited to only Saraj.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh said that Jairam had earlier agreed to contest the elections after being asked by the high command, but as soon as he came to know that Congress was going to field the young and smart face Vikramaditya Singh, he backed down. He told the top leadership of BJP that only a celebrity can win from Mandi, hence gave the ticket to Kangana Ranaut. Jairam Thakur will have full support in failing Kangana. Kangana Ranaut has come to Himachal Pradesh for a month’s shooting. The leader of the opposition may set the location as per his wish or change the location as per his wish, the film is sure to flop.
The Chief Minister said that we have a top hero (Vikramaditya Singh) here. The top hero is the one who is engaged in serving the public day and night. Vikramaditya Singh has fully supported the people of Mandi parliamentary constituency during the disaster. He stood with the people in their sorrow. Sitting in JCB, roads were opened and valley bridges were built. Vikramaditya has done many works in Banjar, by becoming MP he will bring development here. After the Lok Sabha elections, he will again come to Banjar with Vikramaditya Singh and the demands of the people will be fulfilled.
The Chief Minister said that the previous BJP government had opened the doors of corruption. Jobs were sold and Jairam Thakur remained a mute spectator for the entire 5 years. BJP is anti-Himachal and anti-women. First they did not cooperate in the disaster, then they reached the Election Commission to stop the women from getting Rs 1500. BJP only does the work of baking political bread. Congress believes in working and does not allocate funds after watching elections like BJP. BJP used money power to topple the elected Congress government, but even by buying 6 Congress MLAs, Jairam could not satisfy his hunger for power. Congress does not have money but manpower. We will defeat money power only with the power of manpower.
Former employees join BJP
Former employees in Banjar have joined Congress. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Lok Sabha candidate Vikramaditya Singh, retired assistant professor Joginder Thakur, retired head teacher Sabja Chand, retired police personnel Vikram Thakur have joined Congress, expressing faith in the policies and works of the Congress government and the Chief Minister.
