Sakhi Conference organised in Junga Battalion – Women showcased their skills

A Sakhi conference was organized at the 1st Himachal Pradesh Armed Police Battalion, Junga, to promote better coordination and interaction between the police and the general public. Organized at the initiative of Battalion Commandant Bhupendra Negi, the event was enthusiastically attended by the battalion’s female personnel and approximately 100 women from the surrounding panchayats.
Seema Negi attended the Sakhi Conference as the chief guest. Encouraging the participating women, she said that such events provide opportunities for women to showcase their talents and strengthen mutual cooperation and dialogue within society. She honored the winners of various competitions by presenting them prizes.
Various arts and skills competitions were held for women during the conference. Among these competitions were sewing, embroidery, mehndi, painting, crochet, and culinary competitions for delicious and traditional local dishes. Women also enthusiastically participated in fun sports competitions such as Matki Phod and Tug of War.
Police Commandant Bhupendra Negi stated that the program’s objective was to strengthen trust, communication, and mutual harmony between the police department and the local population. This event provided an opportunity for the battalion’s female personnel to showcase their talents and skills, while also providing a platform for women from surrounding panchayats to mingle with police personnel and showcase their skills and talents.
The women said that this type of event was a new and exciting experience for them. They participated in various activities alongside female police personnel and described it as an initiative that promotes mutual brotherhood and harmony.
