Rishi Panchami Jatra fair concludes in Bangapani; thousands of devotees seek blessings at the Nag Temple

The two-day Rishi Panchami Jatra fair held at the Kalohad Nag Temple in Bangapani, near Chiyog, concluded with great pomp and religious fervor. During the fair, thousands of devotees from approximately 12 panchayats in the region visited the Kalohad Nag Temple and received blessings from Mata Jaiswari Daleniya and the snake deity.
The fair was inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Marketing Board Advisor Narendra Thakur, while State Disaster Management Board Vice Chairman Deepak Rathore attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
Fair Committee Chairman and Bazir Sita Ram Sharma and Suresh Verma stated that this Jatra fair has been held since ancient times on the auspicious occasion of Rishi Panchami at the Kalohad Nag Temple. This fair symbolizes the deep religious faith, tradition, and cultural heritage of the people of the region. They stated that the fair began with traditional worship of Mata Jaiswari Daleniya and the snake deity.
On the final day of the fair, the women’s tug-of-war competition was a major attraction. The women’s team, Chiyog, took first place, while Gray’s won second place. The winning team received a prize of 11,000 rupees, while the runner-up team received 5,100 rupees.
Renowned folk artists from the state enthralled the audience with their melodious performances during the cultural evening. Honey Negi, Bharti Sharma, Dr. Manoj Gandharva, Reshma Pandya, Dikshita Bragta, and Suresh Sharma presented Hindi and Pahari plays, enthralling the audience. The audience danced to the melodious voices of the artists and the folk tunes of the Pahari festival.
Many dignitaries of the area including senior medical officer Dr. Dinesh Sharma, former head Dinesh Jagta, Ghanshyam Sharma were present in the fair.
