Revenue Officers Association demanded e-taxi facility from the government

Himachal Pradesh Revenue Officers Association has demanded from the government to provide e-taxi facility on the lines of other departments. Association President and Tehsildar Junga Narayan Singh Verma told in a special conversation that revenue officers have to go to the field to perform multi-faceted tasks including land transfer, land division, demarcation, administrative, judicial, disaster management and law and order, but due to lack of vehicle facility, revenue officers have to face a lot of difficulty. He told that revenue officers play an important role in providing good governance to the people in the field.
He said that the e-taxi system will not put any burden on the government, rather this expense can be borne from the e-governance fund. Apart from this, he has demanded to provide vehicles to the revenue officers through the District Disaster Management Authority. He said that these days a lot of damage is being done in the entire state due to heavy rains. Revenue officers are engaged in relief and rescue work in the field, but due to lack of vehicles, they are facing a lot of difficulty in reaching the spot.
Narayan Verma says that there is no proper arrangement of office building or government accommodation for the revenue tehsildars working in many tehsils and sub-tehsils of the state. The association has demanded from the government to construct standard offices and government accommodation for revenue officers at every tehsil and sub-tehsil headquarters. He told that the respective SDMs are occupying the residences of revenue officers at many sub-divisional headquarters. He has demanded from the government that all the government residences currently occupied by SDMs should be vacated and handed over to the revenue officers.
He also demanded the government to issue identity cards to all the revenue officers so that the revenue officers do not face any difficulty in the field while working as executive magistrates.
The chairman has demanded the government to hold the meeting of the departmental promotion committee of Tehsildars soon and speed up the process of including them in HAS. Apart from this, the seniority list and civil list of Tehsildars have been demanded.
