Rain havoc in Nahan, DC deploys officers

It is raining continuously in Nahan and surrounding areas on Sunday.  Heavy damage is reported from Kandaiwala under the Nahan assembly constituency in district Sirmour of Himachal Pradesh.  

According to officials of the Revenue Department, about 30 to 40 bighas of land has been washed away.  There is news of three animals including a cowshed being swept away.

 Apart from this, a tractor, a trolley, and a shop are reported to have been submerged. As soon as the incident was reported, Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta directed SDM Rajnesh Kumar, Police, Home Guard, Health Department, and Revenue Department officials to reach the spot for relief and rescue.  Have been put to work.

 Apart from this, others are busy working in the concerned department and trying to provide relief to the people.  Three JCVs  Some school children who were on their way to play the tournament got stuck near Kadaiwala in the rain and flood.

 The Deputy Commissioner said that arrangements have been made for all these children to stay at a safe place in the house of local resident Jayprakash and the parents need not worry about anything.

 On the other hand, due to heavy rains, the Deputy Commissioner has issued an advisory and appealed to the people not to leave their homes unnecessarily.  He has also advised people not to go near rivers and drains.  They have also asked not to go near the mountains.

 Landslides are happening due to excessive rainfall and stones are falling at many places.  They have asked not to park their vehicles on the hillside and also appealed not to travel during the night.  He has asked to inform by calling 1077 in case of any kind of disaster.
