Quick Action by DDMA Shimla Prevents Potential Accident

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Shimla has once again demonstrated its efficiency and preparedness, this time by averting a possible accident through swift action. Known for its proactive approach, the DDMA responded promptly to a critical situation today, showcasing its commitment to public safety.

According to a spokesperson from the DDMA, Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, received an alert this afternoon about a loose steel sheet on the roof of a building in Ganj Bazar. The sheet was dangerously hanging toward a window, posing a significant risk of falling and injuring pedestrians below. Recognizing the urgency, the Deputy Commissioner immediately directed the DDMA to take action.

The DDMA quickly contacted the informant, Ved Prakash Sood, to gather more details. A rapid response team, led by Platoon Commander Ravi Sharma, was dispatched to the site. Upon arrival, the team discovered that the building in question was locked, and its owners were out of town. Given the gravity of the situation, the team accessed the roof of an adjacent building and, after considerable effort, successfully removed the hazardous steel sheet, preventing a potential accident.

Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap praised the DDMA and the quick response team for their exemplary work. He emphasized that the DDMA operates round the clock to serve the people of the district and urged residents to contact the toll-free number 1077 in case of any disaster or emergency.

This incident highlights the critical role played by the DDMA in ensuring public safety and its ability to act swiftly in crisis situations, further solidifying its reputation as a reliable and responsive authority.
