Protest Rally by Himachal Pradesh University Non-Teaching Staff Against Administration

On August 1, 2024, under a pre-announced strategy, all the non-teaching staff of the Himachal Pradesh University Non-Teaching Employees Joint Coordination Committee held a massive rally on the university campus. The employees enthusiastically participated in the rally, circling the entire campus while angrily chanting slogans against the administration. The protest was sparked by the university’s failure to notify the proceedings of a committee meeting. The Aakrosh Rally concluded in front of the Vice Chancellor’s Office Building, where a micro gate meeting was held. During the meeting, JCC Chief Advisor Raj Kumari and JCC General Secretary Naresh Kumar Sharma addressed the gathering. JCC President Rajesh Thakur thanked all the women and the officers and employees for making the rally a success. He expressed his protest by questioning the university’s functioning and informed that the gate meeting would continue as usual.
