Proposal to downsize 20 pc in state pension fund worrisome: BJP

Opposition BJP trying to augur from the 2022 assembly election shock now started cornering the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh as the party leader in the state assembly exposed the latter for downsizing the pension fund of the state.

Initiating the debate on the Governor’s address on Thursday, former chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the Government has moved a file in the finance department to cut down the size of pension funds of the state employees by 20 percent. He said that the government has recently announced the Old Pension scheme should not issue counter to the new items that appeared on the matter recently. BJP accused the Congress of deceiving the women to not release Rs 1500 welfare pension after completing one year in power. The Governor’s address also tried to propound the fact that the promise of the election manifesto was completed by issuing pensions to women up to Rs 1500 per month is a sheer lie. The party leader also accused the Sukhvinder Singh Government of ruining the state economy by making history by borrowing Rs 14000 Cr. in 14 months of rule which never happened in the past. 

The BJP leader also said that Mr. Sukhu would be known in the future for claiming the credit of closing down 1000 institutions, however for any head of government such a move would be considered discredited. He said that people who are displaced in the monsoon rain are still moving from post to pillar to have government assistance as RTI information was supplied to him about the negligence in extending relief to the needy people. During the discussion on the GUV address the leader of the opposition and chief minister indulged in verbal assault on each other as the former accused the chief minister lier and latter the accused the LOP of deceiving the people (Thug). 

On the intervention of CM the speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that defamatory words spoken by the LOP and CM would be removed from the proceedings if it would be found in the proceedings of the house. Mr.Thakur said that not a single job was offered to youth and after disbanding Hamirpur Staff Selection Commission the lakhs of candidates who appeared in Junior Office Assistant posts are agitating against the Congress government in the state. He said that the advocate general of Himachal Pradesh submitted before the SC that the JOA paper conducted during the BJP government should be declared illegal but the government could not submit the evidence to prove its claim before the apex court which turned down the government plea. The state government has now ruined the future of all candidates despite having relief from the SC, LOP said.

Earlier to this Chief Minister countered the move of the BJP in the house and said that the Government is in the continuing process and the borrowing made by the Congress in this government was passed upon it by the former BJP rule and the Government is releasing the due of employees pending since the previous regime and Government have opened number of institutions denotified without making sufficient provisions of finance and staff.      

Earlier today, starting the discussion on the address of Guv Shiv Partab Sukhula delivered on the first day of the session Congress MLA Sanjay Rattan presented the Motion of Thanks to Guv which would be debated and would be canceled tomorrow. The motion of thanks moved by Mr Rattan was supported by the Ravi Thakur of Congress. Discussion on the motion would continue after the lunch break.
