Nageshwar Rao, Director IIAS presented awards to the winners of the Hindi competitions organized last year 

 The annual award distribution ceremony of the official language was celebrated with great enthusiasm on Wednesday at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (Advanced Study). In this ceremony, the Director of the Institute, Professor Nageshwar Rao, presented citations and prize money to the winners of the Hindi competitions organized last year for the promotion of the official language and to 10 employees who wrote notes in Hindi in government work.

It is noteworthy that various Hindi competitions are organized every year by the institute in which officers and employees of the institute participate enthusiastically. The participants securing first, second, third, and consolation positions are honored at the annual function of Official Language. Apart from this, under the incentive scheme run by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Official Language), an inspection committee is constituted every year on behalf of the Director of the Institute to reward 10 officers/employees who do the government work basically in Hindi. In Hindi competitions, Institute’s Sales and Public Relations Officer Akhilesh Pathak ‘Debate’ competition, Ranjana, Office Assistant ‘Typing’ competition; Devendra Singh, Cook ‘Essay’ Competition; Ashok Bhatoiya, Clerk ‘Poetry-Recitation’ Competition; Narayan Das, Office Assistant ‘Eloquy’ Competition; Aman Verma, driver, stood first in the ‘Dictation’ competition. The participants of the Chhand group stood first in the question forum competition. In the note drafting competition, Ranjana, Office Assistant stood first, Promila, Clerk stood second and Ashok Bhatoiya stood third.

Apart from this, under the Official Language Promotion Scheme of the Government of India, first prize went to Kulbhushan Sharma, Upper Division Clerk, and Devraj Sharma, MTS, second prize went to Kesar Singh, Upper Division Clerk, Om Prasad, Clerk, and Devendra Singh, Cook, and Abhishek Dalvi. , Section Officer, Garden, Narayan Das, Office Assistant, Sangeeta Rana, Bhandari, Chandrakala, Clerk, and Gopal Singh, DTP Operator were given the third prize.

In his address, the Director of the Institute, Professor Nageshwar Rao said that the Hindi language has many advantages. This is our language of communication and style for which awareness has increased. Hindi is the language which gives us respect and also makes us special. He said that the power of Hindi is also evident from the fact that the most popular newspapers, movies, and TV serials are in Hindi only. He also said that in our country, regional languages ​​are also being given proper place in education and we should learn more and more languages. Professor Rao expressed happiness that the practical use of Hindi in the work and research work of the institute is increasing gradually.

Secretary of the Institute, Mehar Chand Negi congratulated the award winners on this occasion and thanked all the members present. In his address, he appealed to the officers and employees of the institute to do as much official work as possible in Hindi and said that we must follow the guidelines of the Government of India for the progressive use of the official language of the institute.

National Fellow of the institute, Professor Shankar Sharan said that we should maintain a lively relationship with our language. Professor Rajendra Bargujar, a fellow of the institute, also expressed his views regarding the increasing awareness of Hindi and the richness of the language in the institute.

The employees of the institute are performing well not only in internal competitions but also in Hindi competitions organized outside the institute. On this occasion, it was also informed that in the debate competition organized by the City Official Language Implementation Committee (NARAKAS) in AG Office Shimla in October, Public Relations Officer Akhilesh Pathak stood first and Shri Deepak Sharma of the Library Section stood second. Who will be honored separately in a program organized by Narakas.

Fellows, officers and employees of the institute were present on this occasion. The stage was moderated by Rajesh Kumar of the institute. The ceremony ended with the national anthem.
