Pratibha Singh Urges Congress Unity Ahead of Local Body Elections
Senior Congress leader and All India Congress Committee member Pratibha Singh has appealed to party workers to close ranks and strengthen the organisation as elections approach for Panchayati Raj institutions and urban local bodies, including four municipal corporations. Emphasising the Congress party’s long-standing commitment to public welfare, she said collective effort and unity are essential for success.
In a statement issued here, the former MP and former state Congress president urged workers to respect party decisions and work wholeheartedly for the victory of official candidates in the municipal corporation elections. She stressed that discipline and cooperation within the party would be key in the upcoming contests.
Recalling the legacy of late Virbhadra Singh, the six-time Chief Minister of the state, Pratibha Singh said the Congress must once again amplify the values and voice he stood for. She noted that his respect for party decisions and dedication to strengthening the organisation should serve as an inspiration for everyone. Carrying forward this legacy, she said, would be the party’s true tribute to him.
Calling especially on her supporters, Pratibha Singh appealed to workers to step forward and help reinforce the Congress at the grassroots level. She said the state has been given a strong foundation by past leaders, and it is now the responsibility of party workers to build on it and ensure a united, stronger Congress going forward.
