People demanded deployment of linemen or T-mates in Peeran

Electricity goes off for 18 hours several times a week just because the fuse blows
Shimla 26 December. The people of Peeran Panchayat of Mashobra Block have been demanding the government to deploy a lineman or T-mate of the Electricity Board in Peeran. Last night, due to a single fuse blowing, there was a power outage in Peeran for 18 hours and people had to spend the night in darkness and bitter cold.
Many people including former head of Panchayat Dayaram Verma, Daulat Ram Mehta, Ram Gopal Mehta, Chanchal Verma, Jabar Singh Thakur, Pritam Thakur say that due to lack of normal electricity supply in this Panchayat, people especially the students, senior citizens, sick people face a lot of problems. In the IT era, mobile has become an integral part of man. Due to lack of electricity, the battery of the mobile also stops working.
Dayaram Verma says that due to shortage of staff in the electricity sub division Junga, the employee has to travel about 36 km from Koti to Peeran just to fix a fuse. He says that unannounced power cuts have been going on in this panchayat for the past one week due to which people are facing a lot of trouble in winters. He told that on the demand of the people, Peeran Panchayat has been connected to Sheelabagh sub station of Rajgarh for about a year. Earlier, electricity was supplied to this area from Koti Neen but in winters, there used to be blackouts for many days due to snowfall in Koti Neen.
It should be noted that the electricity sub-division Junga is facing a shortage of staff for the last two years. One post of assistant engineer has been filled after one year while a total of 16 posts including JE are vacant. Due to this, sometimes it takes two days to replace a fuse. The responsibility of 136 transformers of the sub-division is on the shoulders of only 12 field employees.
Executive Electricity Board Shimla Pratap Singh Chandoli said that the deployment of technical staff in Peeran is being considered and if possible, they will be deployed at local level soon.
