PATA Student Chapter begins in IIM Sirmaur

In a landmark move, the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIM Sirmaur) sets a new precedent in travel and tourism education with the establishment of its Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Student Chapter. The institute is the second in South
Asia to acquire the certification. This momentous occasion marks a crucial step in IIM Sirmaur’s commitment to fostering global connections and providing its students with opportunities in the dynamic realm of travel and tourism.

As one of the few business schools in India offering an exclusive MBA degree focused on understanding the intricacies of the tourism industry, IIM Sirmaur recognizes the transformative power of international collaboration. The PATA Student Chapter will serve as a gateway for our students to engage with industry experts and fellow students from across the globe, gaining invaluable insights into the latest trends, challenges, and emerging opportunities within the tourism sector.

Over the next hundred days, the PATA Student Chapter will embark on an ambitious agenda, organizing a series of guest speaker presentations, workshops, and seminars designed to expose students to the diverse career paths available within the tourism industry. These events will also promote the shared goal of sustainable tourism, emphasizing the importance of environmentally responsible practices in the development and management of tourism destinations. “This event will be a great opportunity for the brilliant minds of this institute to forge global connections that would help them as well as our institute to achieve brilliance along
with showcasing to the world the talent and knowledge this institute has to offer”, said Sana Maidullah (Tourism faculty) during her meeting with our PATA representative.
