Parliamentary Committee on Rajbhasha call on Governor
The First Sub-Committee of the Parliamentary Committee on Rajbhasha today called on Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, at Raj Bhavan, today.
During the interaction, the members apprised the Governor of their visit to Himachal Pradesh and the ongoing inspection of the use of Rajbhasha in various Central Government offices. The Sub-Committee is on an official tour of Shimla and its surrounding from June 11 to 15, inspecting Central Government institutions to assess compliance with the Rajbhasha policy.
The Committee comprises 30 Members of Parliament which includes 20 from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha and is chaired by the Union Home Minister. The Committee is mandated to inspect the use of Hindi in Central Government offices across the country and submit its report to the President of India.
On the occasion, the Governor honoured the members of the Committee by presenting them with traditional Himachali shawls, caps, and saplings as a token of respect and appreciation.
