Palampur to emerge as a hub for AI and Advanced techonoligies with IIT Mandi Extension

Palampur is poised to become a center of excellence in education and research, with the establishment of an IIT Extension Centre, functioning as the second campus of IIT Mandi. The project has been finalized, and 1,700 kanal of land has already been transferred for its development.

A Major Boost for Education and Innovation

Announcing this transformative initiative in Palampur, Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor (Information Technology and Innovation) Gokul Butail highlighted the far-reaching impact the IIT Extension Centre will have on Kangra and Palampur districts.

To be built in Bhagotla near Palampur, the centre will specialize in Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, and innovation-driven research. Unlike conventional infrastructure projects, this campus will be developed with an eco-conscious approach, ensuring minimal environmental impact by avoiding unnecessary hill cutting.
