One die, Himachal witnesses a loss of Rs 1.13 Crore in Diwali fires 

 Himachal Pradesh witnessed 40 mishaps of fire in which one lost life and the state suffered properties worth Rs 1.13 Crore during the three days of Diwali between Nov 11 to 13. 

According to Commandant Home Guard Solan Naresh Sharma a house fire broke out due to an electric short circuit on Diwali night on November 12 in sector 3 of Parwanoo in which one died and another suffered burn injuries. 

As per data available from the state fire control room, four calls of fires reported in the state including 18 house fires, three forest fires, 19 other fires, and three fire cases were averted. In the total 40 cases of fire, the state suffered a cumulative loss of Rs 1,13,36000 to property, and Rs 10.51 Cr property was saved from this incident by intime action by the fire personnel and local people.

The Solan district reported one major house fire and seven other firest reported a cumulative loss of one life and loss of Rs 11 lakh.  On Diwali, fire major fire broke out in a district Kinnuar when a furniture and handicraft showroom at Khawangi one kilometer from district headquarters suffered a cumulative loss of Rs 10 lakh, and property tunes to Rs 1.50 Crore was saved by the four fire tenders deployed from Recongpeo fire station on November 13.

The highest fire incidents were recorded in Kangra where seven houses were gutted including three business establishments causing a total loss of 9.26 lakh. Shimla recorded nine Diwali fires including two houses, three forests, and four other fires causing a of loss to tune to Rs 6.26 lakh. Hamirpur reported three fire incidents ( two house) causing a loss of Rs 5.85 lakh, Mandi reported a total of four house fires rendering a loss of Rs 5.20 lakh, Una recorded two fire incidents with a loss of Rs 5.05 lakh, A fire in Kullu reported loss of Rs 0.20 lakh and Sirmaur recorded loss Rs 0.17lakh from two fire incident. 

Notable Bilaspur and Lahaul Spiti recorded no fire incidents according to Diwali night available.
