On the occasion of Dussehra festival, a huge crowd of devotees gathered at Dharech temple

Thousands of people visited Jaiswari Mata Mandir in Dharech of Kasupanti constituency on Sunday on the occasion of Dussehra. It is worth noting that there is an ancient temple of Mata Nagarkoti in Dharech where a fair is organized every year on Dussehra festival. The most important thing is that the center of attraction in this fair is the darshan of the goddess. Apart from this, there are no other activities in the fair. People from far-flung areas like Ratesh, Fagu, Keonthal and Dharech area come to the temple to offer prayers, in which people especially come to get their small children’s tonsure done. According to Mata’s minister Shiv Ram Sharma, Jaiswari Nagarkoti Mata is a very visible goddess and fulfills the wishes of her devotees. Especially the goddess definitely fills the empty lap of childless couples. He told that according to tradition, every year on Durga Ashtami of Sharad Navaratri, Jaiswari Mata Dharech arrives at the ancient temple i.e. Mound situated at Kelia Ghat with ancient musical instruments like drums and shehnai where Mata remains seated to give darshan to the devotees till the fourteenth date. This time Mata will return to her temple Dharech on the full moon day of 17 October.
Bazir Shiv Ram Sharma told that in the past, there used to be a practice of sacrifice in this temple, which has been stopped by the temple committee many years ago. In this eight-day festival, the biggest fair is held on Ekadashi, the second day of Dussehra. In which a huge crowd of people gather to have darshan of the mother. In this temple, rice grains are given as prasad, which people keep in their homes so that no negative power enters the house. He told that the committee organizes langar in the temple for eight days. In which ten quintals of rice are consumed on the occasion of Ekadashi. He told that this temple is also emerging day by day as a religious tourism. For the past few years, people from different areas keep coming throughout the year.
