On recommendations of ECI, Manish Garg appointed as CEO of Election Department
After the approval of the Election Commission of India, the state government has appointed IAS officer(1996 batch) Manish Garg as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state. A notification issued by the Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh here on today said that Manish Garg would also look after the work of Principal Secretary, Election Commission. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has given instructions to the state government not to give the charge of any other department to Manish Garg. After this, all the education departments have been withdrawn from him. “If the government wants to give another department to Manish Garg, then approval from ECI will be mandatory for this.” notification said. Now incumbent CEO an 2004 batch IAS C Palrasu has been relieved from the post who was CEO since 2018. The government would issue a separate order regarding his new place of posting. The state government appointed 1997 batch IAS and Principal Secretary Dr. Rajneesh has been given additional responsibility of education department. On the other hand, Joint Director Tanda Medical College and 2014 batch HAS Dr. Avnendra Kumar has installed AC to DC Kangra. The Chief Secretary has also issued orders regarding this.
