Himachal Kisan Sabha will march towards the Vidhan Sabha tomorrow, i.e. on March 20, on the burning issue of poor farmers’ land. In which thousands of farmers from all the districts and block levels of the state will participate.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the state president of the Himachal Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Tanwar, said that this huge rally of farmers will start from the Panchayat Bhawan and march towards the Vidhan Sabha where the government will be made aware of the burning issues related to the farmers’ land. Which issues related to land will be raised, especially the regularization of ‘Shamlat, Khudra-o-Darakhtan, Malikiyat Sarkar, Chakotedar, Nautod, improper implementation of the Forest Rights Act in tribal areas, displaced Gaddis, Gujjars, etc. He said that the eviction campaign in the state is proving to be a problem for the farmers.
He said that these special circumstances in the state have arisen due to the 1952 notification of the Himachal Government, the Forest Conservation Act of 1980, the National Forest Policy of 1988, the Supreme Court’s directives issued to all states in the ‘TN Godavarman’ case on 12 December 1996, and the Forest Rights Act of 2006.
He said that the Himachal government should take appropriate action in this matter and by passing a resolution in this assembly session, these issues should be raised with the central government and the Supreme Court and a permanent solution should be found.
