Normal life paralysed after extreme coldwave in Himachal

The normal life partly paralysed in the state due to mounting of snow on 473 roads affcting power supply in 398 distribution trsnsformer region &  water supply in 73 scheme moreover the report of loss of two life also occured in a landslide early Tuesday morning.

The delayed winter snowfall and bone biting coldwave affected the road communication in Himachal Pradesh as including four National Highway 473 roads are snowbound in the state since last one week. 

The freezing cold hampered the relief and rescue operation in the affected area meanwhile around two hundred roads and five hundred distribution transformers are restored in the hill state.

Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap informed that a temporary hutsment of Bihar labourers hit by a massive landslide last night on Mehli -Junga roads in which two workers died and five others sustained injuries deceased include a woman.

According to Deputy commissioner Kinnaur Amit Kumar the search operation of missing Chennai resident in Satluj river after Sunday afternoon car accident was continue. 

The victim Vetri Duraiswamy along with two other met with a road accident when a car carrying them fell down in the river near Kadhang Nullah returning from Spiti valley. DC said that 100 NDRF is conducting search operation to trace the missing tourist. Driver of the car died in the mishap and one of the occupant identified as Gopinath was under treatment at IGMC.

District Lahaul Spiti is most affected by the current rain and snowfall as three National Highway including Manali-Leh is closed between Manali and Keylong at Rohtang pass Manali -Atal Tunnel Rohtang road is open only for four by four vehicles, NH 305 is also block at Jalorijot and Darcha to Sarchu, Darcha to Shinkula and Lossar to 

Gramphu road is closed due to snowfall till summer. In Lagal Spiti is completely cut ofg from rest of world as 153 roads and two National Highway are currently close by the mounting of snow on the roads.

In Shimla district 134 roads are snow bound 

36 in Chopal, 33 in Rohru, 16 each in Kotkhai, Rampur and Dodrakawar and ten in Kumersen subdivision.

State disaster management authority confirmed that 47 roads are affected in Udaipur and 24 in Spiti subdivision. In Chamba district 61 roads are snowbound including 30 in Pangi subdivision, 10 in Bharmour, seven in Salooni and six each in Tissa and Chamba.

In Kullu district 68 roads are closed including 22 in Manali subdivision,19 in Nirmand and 18 in Banjar and nine in Kullu .

In Kullu district 123  power supply region  119 Chamba and 114 in Sirmour district are also affected. 38 water supply scheme are affected in the state.

Maximum temperature remained several degrees below normal today as tourist resort Kufri was two degrees , Narkanda three degrees, Manali 4.8, Kalpa in 5.2, Shimla 8.5 

Jubberhatti 12, Hamirpur 13, Solan 14.8,Dharamshala 15 , Mandi and Nahan 16, Kangra 17.8 and Una 20.

Met Office forecast possibility of mainly dry weather in the state but cold wave could increase in the state.
