NHAI open NH-3 for one-way traffic

 National Highway Authority of India could restore Chandigarh-Manali National Highway no-5 between Mandi and Kullu for one-way movement of Traffic.

District Kullu Administration said that till this morning  NHAI authority cleared landslides and boulders on one lane of the road and it has opened for traffic movement near 6-mile and 7-mile areas at 0630hrs on Tuesday.

However, between Kandi-Kautala road or part of NH between Mandi and Kullu district, the one-way movement was allowed for light vehicles from Mandi to Kullu however movement from Kullu to Mandi is still restricted.  

According to the Lahaul-Spiti district administration, Manali Leh National Highway ( NH – 003 ) is open for all types of vehicles, movement of vehicles would be from Darcha to Sarchu between 0900 to 1100 hrs and Sarchu Darcha between 1400 to 1600 hrs. Darcha Shinkula Road is open for four-by-four and four-by-two vehicles from Darcha towards Zaskar from 0600bhrs to 1100 hrs. Pangi Killar Highway ( SH – 26 ) is open for all types of vehicles up to Udaipur. Kaza road ( NH – 505 ) from Gramphu to Kaza is open for 4 by 4 and 4 by  2 vehicles and from Sumdo to Losar is open for all types of vehicles.

Around 5000 vehicles of Tourists are stranding since Monday as a number of landslides and mudslides occurred in the newly constructed four lanes between Mandi and Kullu district yesterday.

The state recorded the death of nine people and ten got injured in rain-related mishaps including drowning people in the spate rivers, falling from hills, and various rain-related mishaps. Around two National Highway and 300 roads are disrupted by Rainfall. State recorded loss of property worth Rs 250 Cr in three days of Monsoon.
