NBT book fair from Jun 25 at Shimla

National Book Trust is going  to organize Shimla Book Fair in collaboration with the State Department of Language Art & Culture from at the Gaiety Theater and Padam Dev Complex , Shimla .  The fair would be inaugurated by State Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur on 25 June 2022 at 3pm  and it would be last till July 3,2022. 43 reputed publishers from the country would set up about 63 stalls in  the fair.  Apart from Hindi and English , books published by NBT and other publishers in Himachali , Punjabi , Urdu and other Indian languages will be available at the fair .  Booklovers would have the opportunity to purchase quality and cost effective books across genres for readers of all age groups on subjects such as popular science , popular social science , national biographies , autobiographies , folklore and Indian and world literature .  Along with daily literary and cultural activities , many workshops and competitions for children will also be organized .  The fair would be open to visitors from 11 am to 8 pm every day.  Entry to the fair would be free and a special discount of up to 10 p c  on books would be provided.  The NBT card holders would get 20 pc discounts on its publication.  All writers, litterateurs, publishers and book lovers are invited to visit the book fair. This book fair is being held after gap of five years as NBT could not organised any book  fair after 2017. The NBT in 40 yrs of its existance have organised about 1500 exhibtion all over India. The reading habits have improved among the people of Shimla and Himachal Pradesh sell of kindle came down drastically. During this event Open Mic event to be hel for children, Storry tellingor writing workshop  , Drawing Competition, Slogan Writing  and poster making contest to be held during the fair and winning children would be awarded books in prize distribution Ceremony.
