Nadda meets Dhumal, Shanta to prepare for the next assembly elections 2027
BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda’s visit to the homes of two senior BJP leaders of Himachal Pradesh, former Chief Ministers Prof Prem Kumar Dhumal and Shanta Kumar, is an important step towards preparing for the next assembly elections in 2027. Nadda taking Dr Rajiv Bindal along with him after becoming the state president of BJP is a part of a well thought out politics. It seems that Jagat Prakash Nadda is strengthening his organization by setting it up and resolving all the problems. Nadda wants to make the best coordination by keeping all the corners in mind, this is a very big step of the BJP National President and Union Minister. The wounds that BJP got in 2022 and the Congress government came to power hurt the public.
On July 1, 2025, Dr. Rajiv Bindal took over as BJP President for the third time. The goal is to ensure a strong victory for the BJP in 2027, with Bindal as a president who is working day and night to strengthen the party.
On July 2, the BJP national president arrived in Himachal and met party veteran Jagat Prakash Nadda through various programs in Bilaspur. On July 4, a major development took place in the BJP, which clearly indicates that this time in 2027, the BJP is determined to form a strong government in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.

This important step of National President Jagat Prakash Nadda is being considered as a launch pad to take the organization of Bharatiya Janata Party towards new dimensions and heights, organizing the party and taking it towards a big victory in 2023 is a big indication of this meeting. BJP is anyway known for its strong organization and if the organization gets new proper direction and new energy, then the party can emerge as an explosive force.
This meeting has taken place soon after BJP state president Dr Rajiv Bindal became the president, which makes the importance of this meeting even more important. When BJP state president Dr Rajiv Bindal gave his first presidential speech of this term in Shimla, he had made his goal clear that in 2027, this corrupt and mismanaged Congress government, which is troubling the people, should be uprooted.
This is also being considered as a master stroke of the BJP state president and national president to establish coordination in the organization.
This was the performance of BJP in 2022 assembly elections
Total voting in the 2022 election was done by 4219635 voters,
Out of this, BJP had received 1814530 votes. If BJP had got 37974 votes, it would have overtaken Congress in the vote count. There was a close contest between Congress and BJP in the election.
If we talk about vote percentage, Congress got 43.9% and BJP got 43%, AAP got 1.10%, Independents got 10.39%, Others got .36% and NOTA got .59%. BJP’s defeat margin was only 0.9%. There were 3 assembly seats in which BJP lost by a margin of less than 400 votes, Bhoranj 60 votes, Sujanpur 399 votes and Shillai 382 votes.
BJP’s performance in Lok Sabha 2024
This time in the Lok Sabha elections in Himachal Pradesh, BJP got 56.29 percent votes and Congress got 41.57 percent votes. In the elections, BJP got 14.72 percent more votes than Congress. Out of total 40,78,952 votes, BJP got 22,96,431 votes while Congress got 16,95,904 votes. On Kangra Lok Sabha seat, out of total 10,37,474 votes, BJP candidate Rajiv Bhardwaj got 6,32,593 votes while Congress’s Anand Sharma got 3,80,629 votes. Here BJP got 24.29 percent more votes. On Hamirpur seat, out of total 10,52,398 votes, BJP candidate Anurag Singh Thakur got 6,07,078 votes and Congress candidate Satpal Raizada got 4,24,711 votes. Here BJP got 17.33 percent more votes. In Shimla parliamentary seat, out of 9,70,827 votes, Suresh Kashyap got 5,19,748 votes, while Congress candidate Vinod Sultanpuri got 4,28,297 votes. This means that BJP got 9.42 percent more votes here. In Mandi parliamentary seat, out of a total of 10,18,253 votes, BJP’s Kangana Ranaut got 5,37,022 votes and Congress candidate Vikramaditya Sihi got 4,62,267 votes. Here BJP got only 7.34 percent more votes.
