More than 50 kilograms of khoya and sweets were destroyed on the spot in Rajgarh

The Food Safety Department of Sirmaur conducted a surprise inspection in the Rajgarh market before Diwali and destroyed more than 50 kilograms of adulterated khoya and sweets on the spot. The arrival of the Food Safety Department team caused panic among sweets sellers.
In Rajgarh subdivision, the department’s team, led by Food Safety Officer Priyanka Kashyap, carried out a major operation. Food Safety Officer Sirmaur Priyanka Kashyap, along with the department’s team, inspected the quality of sweets at sweet shops in Rajgarh market. Upon discovering adulteration in the sweets, the team destroyed more than 50 kilograms of khoya and sweets made from khoya on the spot. A total of nine samples were collected, including seven surveillance samples and two legal samples. All these samples have been sent to the laboratory for testing. She stated that strict action will be taken against the guilty shopkeepers after the report arrives.
It should be noted that most sweets shops receive packaged sweets from outside states, which are highly susceptible to adulteration. Sweets shops only sell sweets made from gram flour, Bundi laddus, jalebis, and pakodas. The remaining sweets include various types of sweets made from khoya and Motichoor laddus, which are harmful to human health.
Priyanka Kashyap stated that the department is conducting a special surveillance campaign for Diwali to ensure consumers receive pure and unadulterated sweets. She added that similar inspections will continue throughout the district in the coming days.
He issued a stern warning to sweets vendors, urging them to prepare sweets and milk products in a clean environment and according to prescribed standards. He appealed to consumers to immediately report any suspicious food items or adulteration to the department.
