Month long Chaitra fair to start at Deotsidh from 12th March

The month – long Chaitra fair of Baba Balak Nath will start on March 12th at Deotsidh ,  the seat of Baba Ji. Nearly, fifty lakh people from various parts of India and foreign countries take part in the mela that remains in force for more than three months. However, officially it lasts for one month. A meeting to review the preparations for  The fair was held at Deotsidh temple today under the chairmanship of local MLA, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal. Deputy Commissioner Debasweta Banik, who is the Commissioner of the temple, was also present. In the meeting, a comprehensive discussion was held regarding all the arrangements related  to the fair. On this occasion, Lakhanpal said that all necessary facilities should be made available to the devotees coming in large numbers from outside during the fair. There should not be any kind of shortage during the fair.  At this time the traffic system, drinking water and electricity supply, cleanliness and all other arrangements should remain smooth.  The MLA directed the officials of the Public Works Department to get the roads repaired in the entire Deotsidh area and the officials of the Jal Shakti Department to ensure adequate supply of drinking water during the fair.  During the meeting, District Magistrate Debashweta Banik informed that SDM Badsar will be appointed as Mela Officer while DSP Badsar will be the Mela Police Officer for the smooth organization of the fair.  Apart from these, the Baba Balak Nath temple complex and its surrounding area will be divided into five sectors and sector magistrate and sector police officers will be deployed for each sector.  The temple will be kept open 24 hours during the fair for the convenience of the devotees. The Collector said that 150 additional police personnel and 175 home guards would be deployed for the fair.  Apart from these, a close watch will also be kept from the police control room through CCTV cameras.  Fire fighting vehicles and fire personnel will remain alert for 24 hours to prevent fire incidents during the fair.  Doctors and health workers of the Health Department and Ayurveda Department will be deployed round the clock to provide medical facilities to the devotees.  To ensure the quality of food items, the duty of a Food Safety Officer is being appointed.  A comprehensive discussion was also held during the fair regarding parking arrangements, bus and taxi facilities, langar arrangements and other arrangements.  On this occasion, MLA Indra Dutt Lakhanpal and District Magistrate Debashweta Banik offered prayers at Baba Balak Nath temple before the meeting related to preparations for Chaitra fair and also unveiled the QR code of the YouTube channel of Baba Balak Nath Mandir Nyas. By scanning this QR code on their mobile, the devotees will be able to see the darshan, aarti and other activities of Baba’s cave on the YouTube channel.
