Minister flags off Shimla-Dharmshala & Shimla-Manali Volvo Services

 Industries, Transport Minister Bikram Singh today flagged off the Volvo bus service from ISBT Tutikandi, Shimla to Dharamshala and Shimla to Manali. Speaking media person on this occasion he said  that recently  22 new Volvo buses are being procured  by the  Himachal Road Transport Corporation, out of which seven have reached Shimla and others would soon join the fleet. New Volvo buses have been included in Dharamshala depots and  Kullu depots and other buses will be kept at Shimla depot. He said that the State Government is making efforts to provide Volvo bus service not only in the state but also in other states.  Apart from this, efforts are also being made to connect Volvo bus service with the airport so that people could get maximum benefit from it.

 He said that in view of the upcoming festivals, additional bus services would be run from Delhi, Chandigarh and Baddi for the convenience of the passengers.  At present, according to the information, most of the bus services from Delhi and Chandigarh have been booked on October 21 and 22, so additional bus services from the above places are being done online for the convenience of the passengers as well as for the passengers after the festive season 26, 27  And on October 28, additional bus services are being made online so that passengers do not face any kind of problem during the festive season.

 He said that 50 electric buses have been procured to keep Shimla city pollution free.  Apart from this, the process of procurement of 25 additional electric buses is also going on in collaboration with Smart City Mission Shimla. The Transport Minister said that Shimla to Dharamshala bus service will leave Shimla at 11:30 am which will travel 8 hours via Bilaspur-Hamirpur-Kangra and reach Dharamshala at 7:30 pm.  On the other hand, leaving Dharamshala every day at 12:00 noon, it will reach Shimla at 8 pm after taking 8 hours via Kangra- Hamirpur and Bilaspur.  In which one way fare has been fixed at Rs 9.30. He said that the same Shimla to Manali Volvo bus service will leave Shimla at 8:30 pm and will travel for 9 hours via Bilaspur- Mandi and Kullu and reach Manali at 5:30 am, while leaving Manali at 9:00 pm will reach Kullu-  Traveling for 9 hours via Mandi- Bilaspur, it will reach Shimla at 6:00 am.  In which one way fare has been fixed at Rs 1018. On this occasion Managing Director Sandeep Kumar, General Manager Pankaj Singhal, DM Vinod Thakur, DDM Pawan Sharma, Deva Sai Negi, RM Vinod Sharma, Ankur Verma, Vinita Verma, Executive Engineer Madan Chauhan and other officers were present.
