Mercury dips across Himachal due to fresh rain and snowfall
The cold wave intensified in the state on Friday after fresh spell of snowfall in the most places suddenly causing crash in the Diwali marketing as Street were disolated in the afternoon.
According to Lahaul Spiti district admin North portal started snowing this afternoon forcing to close the vehicular traffic.
Travel Advisory issued by the administration said that Snowfall has started in the northern end of Atal Tunnel Rohtang, hence the general public is requested to avoid unnecessary travel.
Alert has been issued in some places for low visibility, traffic congestion and skidding of vehicle advising slow and careful driving in inclement weather conditions.
Indian Meteorological department issued Orange alert for next 24 hrs for predicting thunderstorms lightening and gusty winds along with rain and snowfall in many places including Chamba, Kangra, Hamirpur , Bilaspur, Mandi Una, and Lahaul Spiti .
Light to moderate rain also forecast at isolated place of Shimla, Kullu, Kinnaur and Sirmour district.
Maximum temperature of Shimla was 15.2 degrees today and four degrees down the yesterday, Keylong seven degrees ( minus 4.6 ) Kufri 11 , Dalhousie 11.5, Chamba 12.5, Dharmshala 18 ( down seven), Kangra 17.4, Solan 18.8(6.4 down), Narkanda 12, Jubberhati airport 21.8, Kalpa 13.9.
Due to inclement weather conditions in the afternoon the Diwali rush and marketing tempo fell down suddenly and Markets suddenly turned disolate as very few people are in the street in Shimla and other places in the state.
