Many high peaks of Himachal including majestic Dhauladhars had fresh Snowfall in the last 24 hrs

An HRTC bus roofed with two feet of snow entered Manali on Monday. The glacial lakes, snow passes, and glaciers of the state were charged with fresh reserves of snow which helped the state and country to end the shortage of water in the future.

Lahaul Spiti district had about two to three feet of fresh snowfall in the last 24 hours disrupting normal life but the winter season is likely to improvise the slump in the state economy which was facing scare footfall of tourists and the hospitality industry likely to make silver with more tourist towards snowline areas.

The abode of Tibetan spiritual Guru Dalai Lama also fascinates people across all Tibetan settlements across the globe not only for its spiritual reasons but Meclodganj and its high reaches which have fresh rain and snow.

The Dhauladhar mountains took a nap under a fresh blanket of snow Monday evening after Kangra Valley got a good soaking from the afternoon rain.

The valley finally caught a break from the dry spell, while the peaks above got a makeover in sparkling white.

This snowfall is like a high-five from the weather gods for the farmers, whose crops were thirsty from the lack of rain. But hold on to your raincoats, folks! The Indian Meteorological Department says some parts of Kangra might see heavy rain and snow till February 21st.

According to the state government state suffered a loss of 15 pc to Rabi crops due to a prolonged dry spell but delayed winter snowfall and rain may help to recover imminent financial loss to state farmers and apple growers.

Deputy Commissioner Kangra Hem Raj Bairwa wants everyone to play it safe. Stay away from avalanche and landslide zones, and don’t even think about trekking in bad weather.

Remember, the mountains are beautiful, but safety comes first!

The state was drenched by downpours and high-velocity windstorms in the past 24 hrs which knocked down branches of trees and disrupted power supply in the state.

Rain and snowfall are likely to continue for two more days in the state as IMD predicted rain and snowfall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Vehicular traffic transport and power and water supply may be hampered due to rough weather conditions.

In tribal areas including Lahaul Spiti and Chamba, people should keep away from avalanche-prone areas and stay safe indoors as high reaches get heavy snowfall and may trigger snowfall.
