Manali-Leh Highway may open within a week

District Administration Lahaul-Spiti is likely to open 485 km long Mansli-Leh National Highway no 3 for four by-four vehicles by next week.

Deputy Commissioner Lahaul-Spiti Rahul Kumar, Police Superintendent Mayank Chaudhary, and Commanding Officer of BRO (70 RCC ) Major Ravi Shankar today made a joint inspection of the 4860-meter Baralacha pass.

 They went to the Last border of the state at Sarchu. It was found that Below the Baralacha passage towards Leh heavy snowfall is mounted on the road upri Bharatpur. Due to narrow roads and snow slippery conditions, it is not feasible for light vehicles Found.

 The Joint Team has currently decided that within a week, the Border Road Organization will restore the route to light 4 * 4 vehicles, in view of changing weather.

An Avalanche hit and blocked  Dared and Madgram Nala (rivulet) today.  About 100 people and vehicles were stuck in between due to road closures from both sides. Om the information was received a team of police officials rushed to the spot and rescued about 100 villagers.

Police officers also rescued 10 Tourists in the state who were stranded in the Snowfall.
