Manage teenage stress with positivity

Department of Women and Child Development organized stress management camp at State Senior Secondary School Bagehra and Sujanpur on Friday.
Guiding students during these camps, Child Development Project Officer Kuldeep Singh Chauhan said that adolescence is the most energetic, productive and competitive time of human life. This excessive energy and competition expects teens efficiency and patience in their behavior. Because our body expresses its reaction as tension while setting tune with the changing surroundings. Stress is actually our physical and mental condition that makes us functional and prepares us to face a special situation.
He said that positive stress helps us to do the impossible looking task in normal situations filled with energy as our comprehension, functionality and activity speed up in stress situations. But, this stress in a state of negativity blockes growth by weakening our physical and mental state.
On the occasion, psychologist Sheetal Verma said that stress management workshops aimed at utilizing the energy of youth by turning this overactivity or readiness of stress into positivity through proper management. Teens can be motivated to use their energy by developing skills such as time management, work priority, effective communication and positive thinking.
He called on these measures to make these measures an integral part of daily life by teaching teens to stress relief through techniques like yoga, meditation, breath management, self-hypnotization. He motivated teens to increase their interest in sports, music and even socially productive activities. He said that we can choose our desired career only by being free from the expectations of society and the people around us.
