Lions Club Shimla Enhances Craigneno Nature Park with Plantation Drive
As part of its ongoing plantation initiative, the Lions Club Shimla organized a tree planting drive at Craigneno Nature Park, managed by the H.P. State Forest Department, in Mashobra today. Building on the success of their previous event in Dhanain on July 14th, where over 120 Deodar, Walnut, and Khanoor saplings were planted, the focus of this drive was to enhance the aesthetic beauty of the Nature Park. More than 60 ornamental shrubs and trees were planted in and around the park.
Leading the initiative were Lion Man Mohan Verma, President, along with other active members including Lion C.L. Sankhyan, Treasurer, and Lion Gopal Vaid, Vice President. The team, comprising Lion Dr. Rajesh Chanana, Lion Kapil Sood, Lion Mukul Sood, and several other dedicated members, played a vital role in the drive.
In addition to the plantation, the Lions Club also promoted environmental responsibility by donating 100 eco-friendly jute bags to the park. These bags are intended for visitors to collect and dispose of waste properly, reinforcing the message to “Say No to Plastic.” The Craigneno Nature Park staff appreciated the initiative and committed to encouraging visitors to maintain the cleanliness of the park.
