Left organizations extend solidarity with Indian wrestlers

State left parties a number of Social organizations including All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA), Himachal Kishan Sabha (HKS) Students Federation of India (SFI) and Democratic Youths Federation of India (DYFI), Centre of Indian Traders Union (CITU)

extended its solidarity with Indian women wrestlers who are protesting against the BJP for sheltering an accused Member of Parliament Brijbhushan at Jantar Mantar New Delhi since the months of April.

Left frontal organizations today launched a whole-day signature campaign at Ridge before the statue of Mahatma Gandhi to support women wrestlers.

450 signatures were done on the banner today, this campaign would continue tomorrow also Janwadi Mahila Samiti.

The campaign is being run in the whole state to obtain signatures and send a memorandum to the Prime Minister of the country. 

AIDWA waging a battle against sexual harassment of women in the whole country and state and they are also on the road to support of women wrestling players in the country’s capital Delhi.

Protesters said that the Women’s Committee has been demanding action against Braj Bhushan Sharan, ) BJP MP and President of the Wrestling Federation) who is accused of sexual harassment, should be arrested as soon as possible and also be dismissed from Wrestling Federation.

 Another BJP minister accused of sexual harassment in Haryana has not been arrested yet.  Due to this government, violence against women is continuously increasing. 

 Organizations said that women are suffering the most due to sexual violence and they have to protest on the streets day and night for justice, who are also very upset.

AIDWA also did fund collection for the violence in Manipur.
