Kisan Bhawan Dhalli was hit by a massive landslide, all rooms evacuated

Due to heavy monsoon rains, a landslide came down on  Kisan Bhawan at in the outskirt of Shimla near the Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Dhali no loss of life occurred.

Reports arriving here said that a massive landslide hit Kissan Bhawan around 1145vhrs this morning which partly damaged a few vehicles and five rooms of a four-story building damaged by the stone and landslide debris that entered the rooms. 

 Fortunately, the landslide happened during the day when all rooms were empty. During the apple season Police personnel are residing in the building.

The stones reached inside three rooms of the Kisan Bhawan. Two vehicles were also damaged due to this. Now Kisan Bhawan has been vacated. 

Cracks also develop in the hills and there is more danger of landslides here again. It is noteworthy that APMC has set up Kisan Bhavan in Shimla’s Dhalli for the convenience of farmers. 

Met Office has sounded high alert for vigorous rainfall in many places of the state in the next 24 hrs as it was mainly cloudy however due to extreme humidity the sweltering heatwave conditions also developed in the low line areas of the state.
