Killing of farmer: Kissan Sabha & CITU burns effigy of Amit Shah   

Himachal Pradesh Kisan Sabha and Centre of Indian Trade Union organized a protest in many places of Himachal Pradesh on Friday against the killing of a farmer after indiscriminate shelling on protesting farmers by paramilitary forces on the Haryana border Wednesday. 

Himachal Kisan Sabha and CITU State Committee Himachal Pradesh burned an effigy of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP Chief Minister of Haryana at Shimla. 

The protest was also held at Poantashaib in Sirmour, Nirth Rampur, Mandi, and other places.

The main demonstration was held at the DC office in Shimla over the incident of the killing of young farmer Shubhakaran Singh and injury to dozens of others.

 During this time, the workers also burnt the effigies of Home Minister Amit Shah, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and Minister Anil Vij amid loud sloganeering. 

Workers and farmers condemned farmers Modi Government and wore black badges on the barbaric oppression of farmers.

CITU and Kisan Sabha have strongly condemned the barbaric and unprovoked use of force and repression on farmers at Khanauri and Shambhu borders by Haryana Police and Central forces.

Addressing a protest meeting former MLA Rakesh Singha said that a young farmer lost his life. He said that Shubhakaran Singh, son of Charanjit Singh of Ballo village, died due to a serious head injury after the shelling of the paramilitary force.

He said that dozens of farmers have been injured in the barbaric police repression on Khanauri and Shambhu borders.

 Lathi charge, plastic bullets, and tear gas shells have been used on the farmers. The only fault of these farmers is that they wanted to reach the country’s capital Delhi and demand from the government that the promises made to the farmers during the movement to withdraw the three agricultural laws should be fulfilled. 

The ruling Modi government at the Center and the BJP government in Haryana are intent on using various illegal means to crush any protest. 

Kisan Sabha leader Dr Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said that Workers and farmers took solidarity action by carrying out tractor march across the country on the day of the WTO conference starting in Abu Dhabi on 26th February against the anti-national Modi government which is promoting atrocities on laborers and farmers through corporate communal nexus. 

In this sequence, a huge Kisan Mazdoor Mahapanchayat will be held at Ramlila Ground on 14th March.

Apple Farmers Federation of India convenor Rakesh Singha, Kisan Sabha President Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, and CITU State President Vijendra Mehra have demanded that a case be registered against Home Minister Amit Shah, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister Anil Vij for the murder of farmers.

 

A compensation of Rs 1 crore should be given to the martyrs of the farmers’ movement. The minimum support price of crops should be implemented. Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations should be implemented. Debt relief of farmers should be ensured. 

The killings of farmers, repression, and breaking of tractors should be investigated by a Supreme Court judge. Farmers should be compensated for their broken tractors. The destruction of farmers at the instigation of the World Trade Organization should be stopped.

 The conspiracy to hand over farming to Adani-Ambani and other corporates should be stopped. The conspiracy to evict farmers from farming and make them bonded laborers should be stopped.
